Moen Jo Daro 5000 years old city
by Jamal Panhwar
Moen Jo Daro or Mohan Jo Daro is one of the oldest and most mysterious archeological site in the Southeastern provice, Sindh of Pakistan. It is quite a site to see that such an advanced urban civilization existed about 5000 years ago.
The Indus civilization florished here in 3000-2500BC, a time when we can only think of humans living in caves or scattered settlements elsewhere but here in Pakistan (India) the people started to live in cities. Quite a remarkable scene to see that the cities of that time were way better then they are today in Pakistan.
The two major cities excavated of that time are Moen Jo Daro & Harrappa both had significant similarities and were part of the same kingdom. The cities were not wild settlements but were actually planned. Proper Streets in Grid system a main street prividing perfect connectivitiy between diffrent sections of the city was prominant road.
All Streets had covered drainage a DUSTBIN which both are missing in today's so called advance civilization.
Proper system of water drainage and supply was definetly present at that time.
The city was divided in different sections making it easy to administrate. A comercial districk, workers living area Industerial area and rich residential area were found which were connected with main street.
